About Back on My Feet & 20in24

Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a national nonprofit organization that is dedicated to creating independence and self-sufficiency within the homeless and other underserved populations by first engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem.

Back on My Feet has chapters in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Indianapolis, Atlanta and New York City.  The organization's tenth chapter will launch in Austin, TX in 2013.  The 20in24 supports Back on My Feet chapters nationwide and allows us to continue to expand our footprint across the country.

Back on My Feet does not provide food, nor does it provide shelter, but instead provides a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership. Back on My Feet’s approach focuses on the very profound and innate desire for all of us – regardless of age, race, socio-economic status – to feel recognized, appreciated, valued and important. Through dedication and hard work, Members earn the opportunity to create a new road for themselves by advancing to the “Next Steps” phase of the program where they gain access to educational, job training and employment opportunities, as well as financial aid. In short, BoMF focuses on changing the direction of people’s lives by changing the way they see themselves.

Why 20in24?

Back on My Feet created the 20in24 Challenge in 2008 for three reasons:
1. To raise money and awareness for the organization
2. To establish a unique event that Back on My Feet Members can participate in
3. To create a venue to continue to breakdown the stereotypes of homelessness

Back on My Feet Members do not want to be homeless, and the organization is helping them discover a path filled with hope, opportunity and happiness. We have a 50 percent success rate and we encourage you to learn more about our program.
