MIDNIGHT MADNESS

For the mid-distance runner looking for something truly unique, run through Fairmount Park like never before at The 2013 Strohemann Back on My Feet 20in24 Midnight Madness! Light the path for Lone Rangers in Philadelphia’s only glow-in-the-dark run, which takes place on Sunday, July 21 at midnight. Midnight Madness runners will light up the 8.4-mile loop around Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River (see the course map). The course will be well lit and marshaled by bikes and support vehicles that will constantly patrol the loop throughout the entire night. All Midnight Madness participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race, or have parents’ permission to run with their guardian.

Packet Pick-up & Check-in


You are strongly encouraged to pick up your race packet on Friday night, July 19 at Lloyd Hall (1 Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, PA) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you cannot pick your packet up on Friday, you may do so on Saturday night, July 20, between 10 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. at Lloyd Hall.

Start Time


The race will begin promptly at midnight and there will be a pre-race meeting at 11:45.

Lloyd Hall


Runners will enjoy all the amenities of Lloyd Hall. This facility is air-conditioned and will be open the entire 24 hours to all participants. Inside, you will be able to relax, eat, get massages and even take a shower.

IMPORTANT: Only Platinum teams and Lone Rangers will be able to set up sleeping areas inside Lloyd Hall – you will be able to go in at any time to cool off.

refreshment and water stops


There will be a refreshment station every two miles of the loop that will be stocked with plenty of food, water and bathrooms. Hydrating drinks and energizing snacks will also be at every refreshment station. In addition, there will be ice and wet towels on the course.

RUNNING AT NIGHT


AT ALL TIMES RUNNERS MUST HAVE A HEADLAMP – NO EXCEPTIONS! We also recommend that runners carry cell phones. The course will be well lit and marshaled by bikes and support vehicles that will constantly patrol the course. RUNNERS COMPETING AT NIGHT WITHOUT A HEADLAMP OR WITH HEADPHONES WILL BE DISQAULIFIED!
